STUDENT PROJECTS

2022

Dr Mahendra Naidoo (PhD)

Dr Naidoos research focused on patterns of care across Ovarian Cancer using the NGOR’s data on diagnosis treatment and clinical outcomes of patients. He will explore how practice across centres and states aligns with optimal ‘best practice’ guidelines. Sub-groups of the NGOR population will also be assessed including somatic/germline BRCA and outcomes for women with rare ovarian cancers.

Jessica Ravindran (Honours)

Jessica completed her honours project as part of her Bachelor of Science, in October this year. She explored the accuracy of ovarian cancer comorbidity data using three different data sources; the NGOR data, hospital medical records and ICD-10 codes. She then determined what is the best comorbidity index to be used in a clinical quality registry.

Yijie Neo (Cabrini Research Scholarship – winner of the Medical Student Category)
